:toon-style: I Have No Idea

GAH this turned out so... blargh. D: Granted, there are some things I like about it - like the fact that I managed to shade the thing in only one layer (then again, shading was rather simple and minimalistic, so that made things easier to do). But overall... don't be surprised if it moves to my scrapbook shortly.

Since last night before bed/throughout much of today, I've been experimenting a tad independently with some drawing techniques and stylistics of a more Western-style "cartoony" feel than my normal anime fare. Ya know, in the 99.9% likely event that anime-style stuff won't fly when/if BYU's Animation program accepts me. ... Even though all I've done to change things in this style so far/in this drawing is to draw the eyes and nose differently. And maybe the facial structure too. The body composition so far isn't much different from my "anime"-style drawings. May fiddle around a bit with things like that as I work more with this gig.

Now just to make this clear, I WON'T stop drawing in my anime-style! I've spent years perfecting it and have made some good headway this year in the improvement department if I do say so myself. Plus I like drawing anime-style. Just because I'm branching out/broadening my horizons doesn't mean I'm going to completely abandon it. In fact, by developing some skills in more Western-oriented cartoon-type stuff and realism, any improvement I experience in those areas may reflect in my anime pieces as well.

But any-way, more about the piece itself. So I basically wanted to transfer what I'd doodled down in my study-sketchbook to Photoshop and show you guys what I've got so far in what I'll probably dub my "toon-style." Just 'cause. And to prepare you all.

I didn't intend for this character to be anyone in particular... but she ended up kinda looking like Princess Aurora. >A>; 'cept in modern clothing and maybe two-three years younger than she was in Sleeping Beauty
that reminds me I still need to do a full drawing of gijinka!Celestia apart from just that little sketch from my last dump *brick'd*
